How It Works

The Flight Instructor deck is built for the most demanding oral exam in general aviation. The CFI oral does not test whether you understand the material, it tests whether you can explain it clearly enough to teach it. The DPE is evaluating your ability to demonstrate instructional knowledge, not just answer questions correctly.

The deck covers FOI, the Fundamentals of Instructing, flight training principles, technical knowledge at the commercial level, scenario-based instruction, and the full range of knowledge areas the CFI ACS requires, including endorsements.
