Description:

If Private, Instrument, and Commercial are all on your path, whether that path takes 1 year or 3, buying the study materials for all 3 together is the organized approach. One consistent physical study system across the first three major pilot ratings, bundled with three digital Maneuver Mastery companion guides.

What's Included

  • Private Pilot Flashcards- 308 cards
  • Instrument Pilot Flashcards- 250 cards
  • Commercial Pilot Flashcards- 311 cards
  • Private Pilot Maneuver Mastery Guide (Digital Download)
  • Instrument Pilot Maneuver Mastery Guide (Digital Download)
  • Commercial Pilot Maneuver Mastery Guide (Digital Download)

Bundle price: $199.99
À-la-carte value: $249.95 - you save $49.96.

How It Works

Three physical flashcard decks, each built for the oral exam and general knowledge for each certificate/rating.

The Private Pilot deck covers the VFR knowledge areas DPEs test at the private checkride, airspace, regulations, weather, aircraft systems, cross-country planning, emergency operations, and more.

The Instrument Pilot deck covers IFR knowledge, holds, approaches, weather decision-making, lost communication procedures, alternate requirements, IFR regulations, and the topics that separate a prepared instrument applicant from an underprepared one.

The Commercial Pilot deck covers the commercial knowledge standard, common carriage, operating limitations, complex aircraft systems, performance, and the professional-level answers a commercial DPE expects from an applicant at this stage.

You do not need to be working on all three ratings simultaneously to use this bundle. The decks sit ready on your shelf until each rating's oral exam preparation begins. By the time Commercial arrives, you will have been through the same study system twice already and will know exactly how to use it.

Every deck uses the same format:

  • Color-coded ACS subject sections organized by the knowledge areas tested at each rating
  • New, Review, and Checkride Ready progress dividers — sort every card into what you know, what needs more work, and what is ready
  • One concept per card with a clear, direct answer
  • FAA references on the each side — so you always know where to go to study a topic in depth from the ACS to the PHAK to the FAR/AIM.
  • CFI-written and reviewed — framed for oral exams, not textbook reading

The three digital Maneuver Mastery guides are separate companion downloads covering the flight portion of each rating. They focus on maneuver procedures, ACS standards, common errors, and practical preparation. They are not digital copies of the physical flashcard decks.

Who This Is For

  • Student pilots who know they are pursuing Commercial after Private
  • Instrument students planning to continue to Commercial after their IFR rating
  • Accelerated-program students who will move through all three ratings in sequence
  • Career-track pilots who want one consistent study system across the first three major certifications
  • Parents purchasing study materials for a student with a clear aviation career path

What the Decks Are Not

These are study preparation tools designed to supplement FAA publications, ground school instruction, and qualified flight instructor training. They do not replace ground school, required CFI endorsements, or any FAA-required training. The Physical Pilot deck covers Private Pilot VFR content, you will need the Instrument and Commercial decks for those respective checkrides. Each deck is also available individually.

Learn Faster With Flashcards

300+ ACS-mapped flashcards that turn study hours into checkride confidence.

Active recall beats passive review

Each card forces you to produce the answer from memory (not just recognize it). That retrieval signal is what strengthens long-term retention and makes knowledge available under pressure of the oral-exam.

Single-topic cards reduce cognitive load

One concept per card prevents overload, shortens study bursts, and builds proficiency one card at a time.

Will this help beyond PPL (e.g., IFR/Commercial)?

It’s designed for the Private Pilot VFR oral. Some fundamentals carry forward, but you’ll want dedicated IFR/Commercial materials for those checkrides. Please see our other offerings as we offer instrument flashcards with commercial coming soon!
